1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using ChatStack AI ("we", "our", or "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our service.

2. Description of Service

ChatStack AI is a "Bring Your Own Key" (BYOK) user interface for interacting with third-party Large Language Models (LLMs). We provide a web application that allows you to input your own API keys from providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and others to manage chats and prompts.

3. User API Keys and Third-Party Costs

You are solely responsible for your API keys. Your API keys are encrypted on your device. By default, they remain exclusively in your browser's local storage.

  • If you opt-in to our Premium Cloud Sync feature, the encrypted version of your API keys will be securely backed up to our servers to sync across your devices. We cannot decrypt or use your keys.
  • You are entirely responsible for any financial costs, overages, or billing issues incurred with your respective API providers.
  • You agree to comply with the terms of service, usage policies, and rate limits of the third-party AI providers you connect to ChatStack AI.

4. Data Storage and Cloud Sync

For standard users, all chat history, prompts, and preferences are stored locally on your device. However, if you create an account and enable our Cloud Sync feature, you grant us permission to store your encrypted data (including chats, folders, prompts, preferences, and encrypted provider configurations) on our servers. This data is stored strictly for the purpose of synchronizing your experience across multiple devices.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

The service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure. We are not responsible for lost chat histories due to browser cache clearing, local storage limits, or sync interruptions.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ChatStack AI shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the service.

7. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Norway, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
